SEO for UK service businesses, without the guesswork

For a service business, search works when a page answers a specific question better than the alternatives and makes the next step obvious. Most of the value comes from a small number of pages written properly.

Build the pages buyers search for

  • One clear page per service, written for a buyer rather than a crawler
  • Location pages only where you genuinely serve and can prove it
  • Cost and comparison pages, because those are the questions people actually type
  • A short answer near the top of every page, with the detail below it

Get the technical basics right once

Clean URLs, a unique title and description per page, one H1, canonical tags, a sitemap, sensible internal links and pages that load quickly on a phone. This is a finite piece of work, not an ongoing subscription.

What to ignore

Keyword-stuffed copy, thin location pages for places you do not serve, bought links, and monthly reports that show rankings but never enquiries. Judge the work on qualified enquiries and the pages that produced them.

Questions

Questions this raises

How long before SEO shows results?
Technical fixes can show within weeks. New content competing for commercial terms usually takes a few months to settle, which is why the first pages should target questions you can answer better than anyone.
Do we need to publish constantly?
No. A smaller set of genuinely useful pages, kept up to date, outperforms a high volume of shallow posts.
